One charity of particular importance to True is the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana (RMHC-CNI). The charity’s vision of having a world where all families can heal together seems particularly poignant in today’s environment of social distancing. Due to new regulations concerning Covid-19, RMHC-CNI cannot welcome volunteers into their Houses to cook for the families who have children affected by critical illness. Instead, they are requesting catered meals to be donated to feed these families.
In “normal’ times, one of our favorite giving efforts is our annual “True Take Over Week” where our True Team Members volunteer to prepare and serve dinner at each of the five RMHC-CNI Houses over the course of one week. Visiting the Houses, meeting the families staying there, and hearing the poignant stories is always an unbelievable experience for our Team Members. Because we are unable to do this at this time, we’ve decided to show our support through a “Virtual True Take Over Week.” As a company, True has pledged to provide 5 nights of dinners for each of the 3 RMHC-CNI locations most in need for a total of 275 meals. Additionally, we have had several generous Team Members lend their support to cover the cost of dinner for another 5 nights which will provide an additional 90 meals.
Our “Virtual Take Over Week” is turning out to be one of our most successful giving efforts to- date proving that nothing can stop our Teams from rising to the challenge of giving back to those in need!
